About the Penn State/Cairo University Virtual Cultural Community The Virtual Community web site was created to culturally prepare Egyptian students enrolled in the Penn State/Cairo University Joint Undergraduate Program in Animal Sciences and their U.S. counterparts with the goal to enhance students' understanding of US and Muslim-Arab cultures and develop relationships and friendships before, during and after the program. The site provides students with informational linkeages to various aspects of campus and community life, information about the two universities, highlights on culture and government and law in the United States. The community also allows enrolled students to share ideas and develop relationships. Rapid and direct interaction within the community is made possible by our on-line educational software called ANGEL ("A New Global Environment for Learning"). We use the Community Message Board to post questions and offer ideas to the greater community. The messages and responses are stored in the "Community Message Board" to keep as a reference for others who may have the same questions, or who wish respond to shared ideas. ANGEL will also have a News section to inform the community about upcoming events and program changes that affect us, and timely notes on resources so supplement the Web site. How to Use ANGEL
Welcome! We're very happy and excited that you are here!
